As we enter the last month of our season, Rohit Gulia will be leading our forces for the six remaining matches this season.

It has certainly been a breakthrough season for the raider, and being our top performer, it is the natural choice for this role. With 93 points and three Super 10s to his name, Rohit’s contribution to the side has been remarkable. He displays the leadership quality and mentality of a captain, and has always sacrificed himself keeping the goals of the team ahead of his own personal ambition.

On occasions when the team has been down, Rohit’s individual performances have always brought us back in the game. With the added responsibility, we expect Rohit to rise to the occasion and help the team in its push to the playoffs. With every upcoming match being a must win affair, the team under the leadership of Coach Manpreet Singh and Captain Rohit Gulia will leave no stone unturned to win each and every match.

Our outgoing Captain Sunil Kumar has set the precedence of what is expected from a Captain of such a prestigious team. He has done astonishingly well, leading the side to the finals in his debut season a Captain. Make no mistake, Sunil Kumar is still a senior figure, and important member of the team. While he has had a good season, taking off the added pressure of captaincy will help him concentrate on his individual game, and better marshal the defensive troops.

Rohit will take charge of the troops for the first time tonight, as the Giants take on the Jaipur Pink Panthers in their home den.
