Jintimani Kalita's cricketing story began almost by accident, tagging along with her brother to local training in 2016, never imagining it would lead to a Women's Premier League contract and a place in the history books. Born on December 25, 2003, in Mangaldai, Assam, this left-handed all-rounder who bowls right-arm medium-fast quickly turned that chance introduction into a genuine calling, developing into a frontline opening seamer within Assam's district and state youth structures.

Her rise through the ranks was steady and deliberate, representing Assam Women across senior List A and T20 cricket, featuring for East Zone in inter-zonal competition, and catching selectors' eyes enough to earn a place with India B in the Under-19 Women's Challenger Trophy, along with an invitation to the National Cricket Academy's high-performance camp for the country's best young talent.

Ahead of the inaugural 2023 Women's Premier League, Kalita made history by becoming the first female cricketer from Assam ever to earn a WPL contract after being snapped up by Mumbai Indians. She made her WPL debut against Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium and played her part across ten matches in Mumbai's title-winning campaign, operating as a disciplined containing option through the powerplay and middle overs.

After representing Mumbai Indians across multiple WPL campaigns, her franchise journey took a new turn ahead of the WPL 2026 season when Gujarat Giants drafted her as an injury replacement for Titas Sadhu. On the domestic and representative stage, Kalita expanded her footprint into mid-2026, featuring prominently for East Zone in the Senior Women's Inter-Zonal competitions before earning selection for the India A team during their tours of England in mid-2026 and the multi-format home series against Australia A in September 2026.
