With a comfortable victory over Tamil Thalaivas, we registered our second victory of the season. Both our raiders and defenders looked comfortable, and credit must go to the coaching staff for preparing them well for the game. Some bold calls were made regarding the starting seven and they paid off. Coming into the starting line-up, Ajay Kumar rode on the wave of confidence from the previous match and racked up 7 points. Sachin Tanwar was his usual self and put up his first super 10 the season.

The first half saw points being traded back and forth as we entered half-time with a slender lead of 2 points. A momentum shift in the second half saw our players rack up points one after another, and also inflict the all-out on the Thalaivas. The lead kept growing, and the Giants put the game well out of the Tamil Thalaivas’ reach.

Now, we play Puneri Paltan for the second time this season. It was against them that we had notched up our first win in this edition of the VIVO PKL. When we met them earlier in the season, Nitin Tomar scored 13 points. However, we were able to get over the line with whole-hearted performances from Sachin Tanwar and Ajay Kumar. Sachin Tanwar put in an excellent all-around show with 9 raid points and 3 tackle points. Restricting Nitin Tomar will be of utmost importance, and Coach Manpreet Singh is well aware of that fact.

The Giants will look to up their game further and extend their unbeaten run against the Paltan.

Battle within the Battle: Parvesh Bhainswal vs. Girish Ernak.

Girish Ernak, the left corner for the Puneri Paltan, has been an A-grade defender with 30 points to his name so far this season. Puneri Paltan will rely on their stalwart to stop the Giants. On the other hand, our own Parvesh Bhainswal will be looking to continue where he left off in the previous encounter and add to his tally of tackle points. He looked in his groove against the Thalaivas, keeping Ajay Thakur in check. If he manages to keep Tomar at bay similarly, it will go a long way in helping us take another win.

Key Giants

Sachin Tanwar

Sachin Tanwar is a special talent, and our management has tremendous faith in the young lad. In the previous game, we saw just why. He got his first Super 10 of the season and will be looking to have a similar outing against the Puneri Paltan and load the stat sheet with some big numbers.

Ajay Kumar

Ajay Kumar seemed extremely confident in his last start. He began the proceedings for us against the Tamil Thalaivas and quickly compiled points. The youngster has got a never-say-die attitude, and his performance will be key in our second match against Puneri Paltan.
