In a memorable sporting crossover of kabaddi and hockey, our Giants had a special interaction with the Indian men’s hockey team at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre in Bengaluru on Wednesday, August 6.

As part of our pre-season preparations for the Pro Kabaddi Season 12, our Giants Parteek Dahiya, Himanshu Jaglan, Rakesh Sungroya, V. Ajith Kumar, Nitin Panwar, along with head coach Jaivir Sharma, assistant coach Varinder Singh Sandhu and fitness trainer Abhishek Parihar enjoyed a fun-filled session with the members of the Indian men’s hockey team.

Players and coaches from both sides discussed the physical and tactical demands of kabaddi and hockey, including strength, conditioning, speed, skills and strategic planning. They also interacted about topics such as injury prevention and training techniques that can be utilised from one sport to enhance performance in the other.

During the crossover event, our head coach, Jaivir Sharma, was seen greeting Indian men’s hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh by his popular nickname, “Sarpanch.”

Our team members even showcased their hockey skills, while the likes of Indian men’s hockey team captain Harmanpreet, forward Mandeep and head coach Craig Fulton were spotted trying their hand at raiding.

The delightful session later concluded with an exchange of jerseys as a gesture of goodwill between both teams.

Meanwhile, our Giants will continue the pre-camp at the Padukone-Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence in Bengaluru, before facing U Mumba in our PKL Season 12 opener in Vizag on August 30.
