Gujarat Giants will be looking to keep their Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 9 playoff hopes alive by defeating Tamil Thalaivas in their must-win game at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday, November 27.

The two-time PKL finalists Gujarat Giants will be desperate to end their five-match losing streak and pip the Thalaivas to bounce back in the ongoing PKL season and also stay in contention to finish in the top six. The Ram Mehar Singh-coached Giants are currently placed 11th in the PKL Season 9 standings with 35 points from 16 games.

Led by captain Chandran Ranjith, the Giants rode on a spectacular performance from star all-rounder Parteek Dhaiya to produce a spirited performance against defending champions Dabang Delhi K.C. before losing 47-50 in their last game on Friday.

The Giants will once again bank on Parteek Dhaiya, who has been in scintillating form this season. Parteek has picked 103 raid points in 13 matches so far and will aim to continue his impressive form against the Thalaivas on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Tamil Thalaivas head into the Giants fixture after suffering a 26-41 defeat against Jaipur Pink Panthers in their previous match on Friday.

With seven wins, seven losses and three tied games, the Thalaivas are placed seventh in the standings with 48 points from 17 games so far.

For the Thalaivas, young raider Narender will be the player to watch out for, having completed 140 successful raids including nine Super 10s to his name in PKL 9.

Gujarat Giants vs Tamil Thalaivas head-to-head

Gujarat Giants have a superior head-to-head record against Tamil Thalaivas in the Pro Kabaddi League, winning four of the seven matches that they have clashed so far. Tamil Thalaivas have managed just two victories while one game ended in a tie.

The last time these two sides faced each other, the Giants and the Thalaivas played out a 31-31 tie in a Pro Kabaddi Season 9 fixture at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru earlier in October.

Going by their past head-to-head record, the Giants have an edge and will look to maintain their three-match unbeaten streak against the Thalaivas in Hyderabad on Sunday.
