Gujarat Fortune Giants suffered a second consecutive defeat at home, as they were beaten by Telugu Titans 30-24 at the EKA Arena by TransStadia, on Sunday. Parvesh Bhainswal was ruthless in the second half, securing 7 tackle points, while Rohit Gulia managed to pick up five raid points.

Manpreet made one change in the Starting Seven, as More GB replaced the young Harmanjit.

Siddharth Desai and Suraj put pressure on our defence early on, as Telugu Titans got off to a flying start. They inflicted an all-out in the 6th minute and took a 9-4 lead.

The Giants clawed their way back into the contest with few successful raids from Rohit Gulia and Sachin Tanwar but the momentum was firmly in favour of Telugu Titans.

Sachin Tanwar’s two point raid and Ankit’s successful tackle in the closing stages of the first half reduced the deficit to four points, as we headed into half-time trailing at 13-17.

Having managed to pick up only 2 tackle points, the defence fired on all cylinders in the second half. Parvesh Bhainswal tormented the Telugu Titans’ raiders, especially in do-or-die raids, however, the defensive performance from Vishal Bharadwaj was equally impressive.

More GB’s successful raid in the 27th minute reduced the deficit to two points but Vishal and Abozar responded with two successful tackle points.

Parvesh Bhainswal completed his second high 5 of the campaign after a stunning tackle on Suraj Desai in the do-or-die raid. Gurvinder Singh was introduced by Manpreet in the final 7 minutes, and the move paid dividends with him getting crucial raid points.

Owing to our fiery defence led by Parvesh Bhainswal, Siddharth Desai took many empty raids in the second half. Two quick points from Gurvinder and a solitary raid point from Sachin brought down the score difference to just three points at 23-26.

With four minutes to go, Vishal Bharadwaj tackled Gurvinder and Sachin in subsequent raids to give Telugu Titans a five point lead in the contest. Parvesh wrapped up his incredible performance with a tackle point on Suraj, but Telugu Titans emerged victorious by a 6-point margin.
