After a gripping season opener that went down to the wire, the Giants are ready to charge again, this time versus Puneri Paltan on September 1 at 9:00 PM IST.
In our fixture against U Mumba, the Giants showed immense fight, finishing 29-29 in full time before narrowly falling in a tense tie-breaker. While the result didn’t go our way, the performance announced loud and clear intentions that this new-look squad is here to roar.
Led by the indomitable Mohammadreza Shadloui, we are looking to convert the fighting spirit into our first victory of the season. Shadloui’s presence and leadership will again be central as he rallies the squad in a tough away clash.
PUN v GG comes armed with added spice, as V. Ajith Kumar, now in Giants colours, will face his former side. The experienced raider is not only hunting for bragging rights against Puneri Paltan, but also chasing a personal milestone: 500 career raid points in PKL. His added motivation could tilt the momentum our way.
On the other side, Puneri Paltan enter the game with creativity and unpredictability. History, however, favours us. In our past head-to-head battles, we lead 8–7, with one match ending in a tie. That slender edge makes every encounter between these two sides a razor-sharp affair, and Monday night promises no less.
With Head Coach Jaivir Sharma’s tactical nous and the hunger of a squad eager to make a mark, the Giants will look to turn lessons into results. The goal is clear: Record our first W of Season 12 and kickstart the march towards our maiden trophy.
