In our penultimate match of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League Season 7, the Giants will face Patna Pirates at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Despite not making it to the playoffs, the Giants will look to win the remaining two fixtures and finish the season on a high note.

Surely, the Haryana leg had contrasting emotions amongst the players and the fans. We registered our biggest win in the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League history against Tamil Thalaivas before falling short by a solitary point against Haryana Steelers, 24 hours later.

Against the Steelers, the Giants were in the lead for majority of the contest, but the momentum shifted in the final five minutes. Even though the defeat has been a bitter pill to swallow, the handshakes and hugs by the players and coaches to Rohit Gulia was a great sight.

There is no doubt that our Captain, Rohit Gulia, has been a chief-architect for us, having secured 127 raid points. With 22 points, in the last two matches, Rohit has been in stellar form and he will be riding high on confidence heading into Saturday’s match.

A new raid partnership of Rohit Gulia and Sonu Jaglan worked incredibly well in the Haryana leg, hence it’s expected that Manpreet will continue with the duo against the Pirates.

Patna don’t possess the biggest of defensive threats, and our in-form raiders will look to dominate proceedings from the word go.

Our defence has shown a lot of promise in the recent past, but choked out in crunch moments against the Steelers, which then had a big impact on the outcome of the match. It will be interesting to see the tactics of our corner defenders, Ruturaj and Pankaj, when they come up against Patna’s biggest asset, Pardeep Narwal.

Key Giant

Parvesh Bhainswal

A lot has been expected from Parvesh and Sunil in Season 7 but the duo haven’t lived up to their expectations. However, in the last two matches, Parvesh partnered with Amit and pulled off some stunning tackles.

Our biggest threat will be Pardeep Narwal and if one man who we can pin our hopes to stop the record raider is none other than Parvesh Bhainswal. Both these players have had some epic battles in the past and tomorrow’s match will definitely be no different.

Head To Head

We have a dominant Head-to-Head record against the Pirates, having defeated them on five occasions in six encounters in the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League.

Both teams are out of the playoff race and they will play with a lot of freedom in tomorrow’s match. With Rohit Gulia on our side and Pardeep Narwal at the other end, it will certainly be a battle between the raiders.
