Gujarat Giants are gearing up for the 2027 season of the TATA Women’s Premier League with renewed confidence, a settled core and a clear vision for the road ahead. Having retained 15 players ahead of the auction, the franchise entered the auction room with a strong foundation in place and the objective of adding the right pieces to build a more competitive and well-balanced squad.
The three new additions bring a strong mix of youth, experience and all-round ability to the Giants’ squad. G. Kamalini, an exciting wk-batter and ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup winner, is a promising prospect who combines an aggressive approach with the bat and excellent skills behind the stumps. Orla Prendergast brings valuable all-round strength and experience, with the ability to make an impact with both bat and ball. Youngster Samaira Raghav adds further talent and potential to the squad, and the Giants will look to nurture her abilities as she takes the next step in her cricketing journey. Together, the three signings strengthen the squad and add exciting dimensions to the Giants’ campaign for the 2027 season.
The decision reflected the franchise’s confidence in the existing group and its commitment to building on the progress made over the previous seasons. With a core of familiar faces continuing their journey with the team, the Giants have a strong base to work from as they look to take the next step in their WPL campaign. The group brings together a mix of experience, youth, skill and match-winning ability. From established international names to promising Indian talent, the squad offers a variety of strengths across departments. This season, it's all about standing tall, fighting together and bringing the giant spirit to the field. Bring It On.
