Our Gujarat Giants will face off against the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore in our second match of the Women’s Premier League Season 2.

The start of our WPL season did not go as planned, as we lost to the Mumbai Indians in our opening game. However, we are not discouraged. We believe in our abilities and are determined to make a comeback. Our focus now shifts to RCB.

In our first match against the Mumbai Indians, our batting struggled initially. Although Beth Mooney scored an important 24 runs at the top of the order, we faced frequent setbacks. We then saw a remarkable partnership between Tanuja Kanwer and Kathryn Bryce, which helped us reach a total of 126 runs. Despite Tanuja's notable bowling performance, securing 2 wickets, Mumbai Indians chased down the target with 11 balls to spare. Now, our aim is to rectify our mistakes and perform better in the upcoming match against Bangalore.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore had a promising start to the tournament. In their game against UP Warriorz, S Meghana and Richa Ghosh played crucial roles in setting a competitive score. Asha Shobhana then bowled an exceptional spell claiming 5 wickets, which was instrumental in securing their victory by a narrow margin of 2 runs. With star players like Smriti Mandhana, Sophie Devine, and Ellyse Perry, RCB presents a formidable challenge.

Reflecting on our past encounters, we have faced RCB twice before, with each team securing one victory apiece. Last season, we defeated them by 11 runs in our first encounter, but they bounced back to defeat us by 8 wickets in the second game. We remain confident in our abilities and are determined to emerge victorious this time. The upcoming match promises to be an exciting and closely contested encounter.
